Your First Visit
Communication is the key to any successful relationship. Our first meeting will allow us to get acquainted with each other. We will start with a discussion about your dental concerns, problems and desires. We will then perform a comprehensive oral exam to determine the best course of action to solve all of your dental concerns.
The typical comprehensive exam includes:
- thorough medical and dental history
- oral cancer screening
- clinical examination (teeth, gum tissue, jaw joints and facial muscles)
- digital photos of face and teeth
- digital dental x-rays (panorex)
- impressions for plaster study models
- consultation with Doctor
(These items are charged at the first appointment.)
This information will be analyzed by Dr. Frey to develop a custom treatment plan for you.
About a week later, after your records have been evaluated, you will come in for a doctor - patient consult. We will discuss your treatment options and together create a personalized plan that makes sense for you. We will discuss your treatment plan in detail, including the costs, the timeline and future maintenance.
If your treatment plan involves an oral surgeon, it may be necessary to have a conjoined consultation. In my experience, this has been extremely helpful for our patients.
If you were referred to us by your general dentist, that relationship will not change. We will refer you back to your general dentist when your treatment is complete. In addition, we will stay in communication with your dentist during your treatment.
