Conscious Sedation
Sedation dentistry provides safe, comfortable dental treatment for patients with a high fear of dental care or complex dental problems. Sedation dentistry is a method of managing pain and anxiety during implant surgery though the use of medication. The only type of sedation Dr. Frey offers is oral conscious sedation.
Oral Conscious Sedation
Oral sedation utilizes a pill such as Halcion or Valium that is taken the night before as well as one hour before the procedure; this will cause light sedation. It can help calm and relax you and may even cause you to sleep during the procedure. As with any sedation, you will need to have an escort who can drive you to and from the office. You will also need to sign the consent to treatment ahead of time because you will not be of a legal state of mind to sign the consent after taking the medicine.
